David Buxton is the new Chief Executive Officer for the British Deaf Association.
David is well known in the Deaf Christian Community. Some of his story is featured on the Christian Signs Website
He is also a District Borough Councillor for Epsom and Ewell, Surrey, and the Regional Operations Manager of SCOPE.
He says via the BDA Website
"I am delighted to take up this position within the BDA and I look forward to taking the organisation into the New Era, with a focus on an empowered Deaf Community and campaigning on the issues related to Deaf Culture, Deaf Identity and, most importantly, British Sign Language. I will be working closely with our Members, the Board of Trustees and our BDA staff, to ensure our signed voice is heard loud and clear.
The two main issues which the BDA will be campaigning on are the right to bi-lingual, bi-cultural education for all Deaf children, and the ongoing campaign for legal status for BSL."
